The promise for a better tomorrow begins with a promise to our children today.  My particular interpretation of this promise is one that should begin in school.  Our school should provide each and every child an equal opportunity to grow in mind, in spirit, and in heart.  To accomplish this, we must become our own worst critic and question everything we do as educators.  All of us (myself included) need to stop looking out the window at what everyone else is doing and instead begin looking in the mirror.

There are still far too many children in this country who do not receive a proper education.  There are still far too many children in this world whose future is determined the moment they walk through the schoolhouse door because of the color of their skin, where they live, what clothes they have on, or who their parents are.  It is simply unacceptable.  We can do so much more for our children.
